Blackpool Victoria Hospital

There was a lot of worry around that time, as you can imagine.

I got told that if Olivia came in the next few weeks, Blackpool Hospital is a level two hospital, which meant they could not step in to try and save a life.

But there was one down the road, Burnley Hospital.

I rang and found that they had the equipment to try and save a baby at 22 weeks.

Um, it's a town that's got its troubles, but is doing the best that it can.

Um, I was born in Blackpool Victoria Hospital, and I gave birth there, as you said, um, yeah, with, to my little girl six months after Preston had died.

I know the hospital very well, and I know the troubles that it has had.

They're sadly not the only, uh, death as a result of murder that has taken place in that hospital around the same time.

Um, and so it's all too easy often to point the finger and say, you know- Special measures need to be put in place here, there, and everywhere.

And actually, special measures have been put in since Preston died at that hospital.

And from what I'm told by our local MP, who speaks quite glowingly of the, the current team at Blackpool Victoria Hospital, is that they, they are turning things around.

But obviously, stories like this shouldn't be pushed to one side.
