Black Temple

Uh, but it doesn't go live for, like, another seven weeks.

So there's a, you know, there's a while for me to continue clearing Black Temple and Mount Hyjal or whatever else, and that kind of stuff, to be fun.

But I am feeling a little bit let down by the fact that it might escape me, just get away from me, and I can't do it.

But, ah, we'll see.

It's been really great.

He only had the one night where he couldn't because Blizzard decided that Black Temple should come out on Thursday.

His classic raid nights are, I think, Tuesday, Friday.

And if I didn't say it before, he was like, I kind of want to play retail and tank in retail, but everybody raids on Tuesday and Thursday.

So first off...

Let me just say that my raid team sent out a survey saying, hey, are you guys planning to keep raiding? What's everybody's goals in TBC? Like, what's the plan? And really, they're trying to figure out, are people just here for Black Temple and then they're going to bounce? Or are people actually going to stay around for Sunwell? I think they're looking at maybe consolidating some teams or something.

So I put that.

I'm probably going to bounce after Black Temple because I really don't want to raid Sunwell.

So we'll see how that goes.

Didn't kill him, but at least people got to see the fight.

So we went into Mount Hyjal.

We went into Black Temple.

And we technically did stuff.

Um, I can't say that I was overly proud of what we did, but, um, you know, it's, it's how it goes first night.

So, yeah, you know, it was fine.

That was Friday night.

Saturday night, we went into Black Temple.

and as i mentioned the gorfiend fight was a big topic on the discord server for our guild and we had the practice game that everyone had been working on for or or not working on or saying they were working on it but not really doing it um you know it's here's the thing it's not a hard fight it's really not but if you don't know what you're doing it's really confusing and you wipe your group So you have to at least have a mental picture of what you're supposed to be doing.

Like, I'm enjoying playing the stuff that I didn't do before.

Like, for example, this last weekend, I played Mount Hyjal and the Black Temple for the first time, and it was fun.

It was stressful.

It was fun.

It was largely Bobby Kotick, I think, trying to nickel and dime them just to get as much money as possible for an upcoming Microsoft merger, which then he scuttled, because the Nitties were like, fine, no World of Warcraft in China then, and of course no Hearthstone and everything else.

When they finally resettled the deal and Hearthstone was coming back to China, so it was World of Warcraft, they had missed a lot of this classic World of Warcraft from 2019 onwards.

And so they made a special version of World of Warcraft for the China server called Titan Reforged, where basically you just went straight to 80, which is like, Wrath of the Lich King level, but instead of going straight to the Wrath of the Lich King content, I think you still had all the abilities of the Wrath of the Lich King expansion, but you could also do Molten Core at 80, you could do Blackwing Leia, you could do the Black Temple, you could do all those different raids at that level, and everyone else in the West was like, oh, that's really cool, can we try this? It's like, no, you can't, because you need to be able to demonstrate you're a Chinese citizen to be able to play on the Chinese servers, that kind of thing, which is like, ah, weird.

But then there were definitely streamers who were... managing to use VPNs and have other people get themselves a fake Chinese identity so they could play.

And yeah, and to say that I'll miss those fights is a, it's a lie because I will not miss those fights.

In a lot of ways, I'm looking forward to Black Temple.

It's a lot harder, especially some of the mechanics are a little bit more complex, a little personal responsibility.

But I think we're going to have a good time.

I guess we'll find out.

Speaking of classic, the Burning Crusade Anniversary Phase 3 will be going live on this Thursday, August 27th.

This will include Mount Hyjal, Black Temple.

It's going to include a whole bunch of other stuff, but honestly, this is the third time Burning Crusade's been released.
