I'm your host, Michael Moynahan, and today, we have a special one with one of my favorite filmmakers, uh, Penelope Spheeris, who you might know from Decline of Western Civilization Part One, Two, and Three, Black Sheep, Wayne's World, and a bunch of other stuff.

But she kind of fell out of love with Hollywood, and that's what made this interview, uh, so fun for me, was that, man, she wanted to spill the beans on people like Jennifer Aniston, Lorne Michaels, she was there at the creation of SNL, and, um, Richard Pryor.

And nobody can tell a story like Penelope Spheeris.

Is that when people say that Chris Farley, um, went back on drugs and died-

Mm-hmm

... because he hated being in B- Black Sheep, that's a big ass lie.

He did, like, Beverly Hills Ninja after.

But do we have to? No, that's exactly right.

And that's the movie Black Sheep.

Absolutely hilarious and funny.

That's what I'm into.

All right, I watched four movies, though.

I had to do connecting flights to get to Hobbs.

I flew to Denver, then from Denver to Hobbs.

Then I flew from Hobbs to Houston and then from Houston home.

So I watched four movies.

The first movie I watched was Conspiracy Theory with Mel Gibson and Julia Roberts.

And I thought this was a great movie.

That was a huge hit.

They immediately brought it back the following year with Black Sheep.

I don't know if you were specifically referring to this one, but this is one that he was not real happy with because the script wasn't finished when he signed on.

For Black Sheep? For Black Sheep.

He only signed on because David Spade convinced him to do it.

And there's some funny moments in that movie, but it doesn't have the same heart.

Like we mentioned, he had a lot of bit parts.

But the movies in question that he actually starred in are as follows.

... you know, I could be...

I might be blending that and Black Sheep together, 'cause what was it in Black Sheep? It was, like, the same premise of both movies, where he's gotta take over his dad's business, right?

Break pad company in Ohio.

That's what it was.
