Well, I know you guys have done an excellent job with deuce and I don't know much about him, but I know I see him on, on Facebook quite a bit and I've seen his picture in your yearbook and, He's definitely a good-looking black and tan, that's for sure.

Why don't you tell me a little bit about

Deuce? Deuce was 13 months old when I got him.

He was

two years old when we got our 50th cast win.

We followed that up with winning first place, Champions Classic at Black and Tan Days.

He's been to the World Hunt twice.

The black and tan coonhound traces its origins back to the early days of American hunting.

Developed from breeds including the bloodhound and various foxhounds, these dogs were specifically bred to trail raccoons and other game over long distances.

Sure.

He was kind of getting out of it at the time, but me and him... actually me and him had got her together out of the gate but that's a little bit later on but right now i'm hunting for a guy named rick robertson a lot but him and richie hunt together you know so i'm i'm hunting both our dogs for them you know one i'm at one time i've got at least one dog of each of them in the pen like you're on the payroll yeah i'm there and then uh rick started out with a dog called black shadow um was it a black and tan it's a black and tan dog he was uh What was them dog's name? Sooner Black and Tans.

I think he was bred like that.

Well, temperament's big.

You know, I'm, I'm super critical of temperament.

Um, I'm critical of temperament in dogs in general, in particular black and tan coonhounds.

And like I said, I've, I've heard excuses here, there, and everywhere, um, on why the dog behaves like it does, and I don't buy it.

Okay.

My ex-wife's uncle had an old black and tan hound.

She got caught in a trap and had one front leg all curled up and couldn't use.

She had had a litter of puppies and had trouble, had to be spayed.

I never knew that story then would become the reason why.
