I would argue that it is ironic that Cave Story has changed so many people's lives, but it ultimately didn't change Daisuke Amaya that much.

He's still the same guy, I think, based on your story, and certainly my experience, uh, talking to him at BitSummit years ago, the very first BitSummit.

Like, at no point was he...

Even in a room full of people who were obviously looking up to him, like, literally looking up to him on a stage, but also metaphorically looking up to him like, "Oh, there's a guy who made a game that probably made me wanna make video games.

Like you will not see somebody try to bring out a 200 player server that can capture those moments in the way that are crafted moments.

I'm sure you've already had hella in your ear about it, but you do need to come to BitSummit.

Like BitSummit in Japan, you would fucking love it.

It's what we used to think about the indie scene here in Melbourne 10 years ago.

And get in before it becomes too fucking homogenized.

I'm still on the fence about TGS.

But BitSummit for me is going to be really valuable, BitSummit in Kyoto.

ChinaJoy in Shanghai next year as well.

These are the places where games like Bellatro get discovered.

So it was him, a singer and, uh, uh, narrators, um, playing.

And, you know, I know that he tries to distance himself from, um, you know it's not that he tries to distance himself from final fantasy but he does try to uh you know kind of remind people that hey i'm a musician i'm an artist and i do other things too and this is my band contiki and this is a this is my new thing this is my new passion so i you know i i wouldn't have blamed him if he kind of like you know kind of went a little bit esoteric but He read the room and the crowd for Uematsu-san at BitSummit, because we have quite a few musical performances.

The crowd for Uematsu at BitSummit was like nothing I'd ever seen.

There were hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of people around the stage.

It was tremendous.

And Steve just drops everything.

And he and I and Elliot and other people, this was while Eric and others were overseas at BitSummit.

We were all home and we were just like, we got to hold this down, do everything possible to help everybody.

It was a Herculean effort.

Like all of this stuff, you know, it's not easy.

But people get in there and they just have so much fun.

And some of those pictures that you had from BitSummit, people just look like they're having an absolute blast.

And the roto chair is like, it's super, super cool, man.
