And, you know, I think Bitcoin's I always valued Bitcoin's role as a currency and I don't appreciate that being taken out of the narrative.

i do think that's a mistake as well and uh to go back there's been all kinds of third-party systems that have been broken by bitcoin or by bitcoin uh one of the big ones for me is that bitpay broke all of those payment buttons everyone had set up their shop to accept bitpay and they said oh you have to update it you have to change the payment button and that broke thousands of web pages that would never be repaired uh so As well as with Saylor and Stork, I feel that at the end of this, we're both going to look at them and we're going to say, these were guys in a big hurry.

Um, I, I-- there was also another exchange that, that was around in the US from Atlanta called the CampBX, and they, they were doing some normal, you know, you could just wire money to them, buy Bitcoin there, and they had a, a, a small exchange, but I don't think they exist anymore.
John CarvalhoGUEST

Um, but most people were using Mt. Gox, and that was how we were getting Bitcoin, especially, like, the, the next year or two after.

In order to declare ourselves decentralized and make these bold statements about cryptocurrencies and Bitcoin in particular, we should try to achieve a greater amount of ... adoption, and also realize that when we sell, not necessarily sell, but when we buy stuff online and they use BitPay, for example, the money only makes people like Roger Ver richer.
John CarvalhoGUEST

Yeah, I mean, the, the hardcore Bitcoiners are all definitely going to be a little bit more, um, political about how they choose and where they choose to spend their money and through what services.
Knut SvanholmHOST
4:29
Yeah, that's similar to how I view it.
Knut SvanholmHOST

Not only the biggest influencers, but the biggest companies like BitPay and all the big miners.
Knut SvanholmHOST

Everyone was on board with this New York agreement where they wanted to hard fork into Segwit2x, which never happened.

So yeah, it's a very important part of Bitcoin's history, I think.
