BioBlitz

Mm.

Um, volunteer Luke Galpin spotted the creature as he was searching rock pools as part of a 24-hour community BioBlitz festival staged by Rockpool Project, a UK-wide marine citizen science organization which brings communities together to record coastal wildlife and build a national picture of how marine life is changing.

There is the PR headline they have been writing for.

[laughs]

And a record crowd has helped uncover the hidden biodiversity of the Warpole Wilderness.

More than 210 citizen scientists ascended on the region for the annual BioBlitz, exploring remote bushland around Mount Rowe and Lake Surprise.

They made around 4,500 observations, recording nearly 600 species.

Oh, pleasure.

So did you spot anything interesting or exciting on the Bioblitz this morning?

Yeah, it was amazing.

The water quality was really clear today and we were in the little shallow area, which is a sort of protected area.

And so art, I guess like when you combine it with science, the two together, like contrary to what a lot of people think, actually go together really well to kind of provide that emotional connection to sit and reflect.

Well,

the Gulayari Cooks River, Home River Bioblitz, how do you feel it went?

I feel like it was really successful.

they did a lot of stuff up there

yeah a lot of stuff yeah with some yeah a couple of great bioblitzes up at carnist in fact that was the inaugural inaugural i can never say that word you smashed it BioBlitz for the RNA Foundation.

So yeah, that sort of set the standard, if you

like.
