I was in The Cult.

My first big gig was I joined The Cult, and I was in The Cult for two and a half years.

Fantastic, toured the world, did VH1 Behind the Music, played football stadiums.

Mm-hmm.

Yep.

And if the song...

Look, pretty much halfway through writing The Tailor, I wrote that with, uh, Gary Numan's producer, Ade Fenton, who's a brilliant, uh, he's like a programmer.

He do- he does all those weird noises.

And I, we wrote that together, and halfway through it was pretty clear that it was a, it was an awesome Marilyn Manson song.

Now, as it happens, I can ask Manson myself.

Talk to me about Sully's vocal ability and lyric ability on this song.

Oh, it's crazy.

So luckily, look, sometimes, occasionally, the vocals are done on my album by sending tracks to someone else because they're on tour or they live, like Dexter, he was on tour.

He actually took a day off of, one of his days off on tour and went into a recording studio in Canada and recorded his vocals and sent me the tracks back.

With Sully, I was lucky enough to be in the same room.

He was coming to LA anyway, and we had already agreed that the instrumentally, the song was strong and he wanted to do it.

And he had sent me his lyrics, which we can talk about in a second, absolutely amazing.

As a guitar player, talk to me about... what people may not understand about exactly how good of a player he is.

I got to say, I wouldn't have it any other way.

I'm happy.

And I mean that for me personally, I am super happy.

I get my ego stroked by going out on tour with Billy Idol for the last 18, 19 years.

Yeah, I'm playing Madison Square Gardens and the Staples Center and Red Rocks and Wembley.
