Billy Macon

I also wonder, just because of logistics, right, did when she married – Billy, right?

Billy Macon,

yeah.

Did he know she was pregnant already and he just accepted?

That's a good question because obviously it wasn't Billy Macon's kid.

Yeah, but obviously he treats it like it is.

She must have found out she was pregnant and realized, oh, I got to hook up with somebody because otherwise nobody's going to think that.

Hal suspects that the victims and DTN are disguised aliens, but Carrie excludes him from the investigation.

After Hal is arrested following a bar fight, Carrie's husband, lawyer Billy Macon, bails him out and introdu- introduces him to his father, Will, a powerful rancher.

John discovers that Will's wife, Zoe, is his recent one-night stand.

Will arranges for Hal to interrogate the sus- the suspect, Whalen Sanders, whom Hal exposes as an alien.

Laura Levy.

Yeah.

So when she goes to the house and offers them a diamond and all that kinda shit, she does make a statement about how maybe it was your son, or, or like interesting, you know, that the husband didn't make it, but m- maybe the ring was looking for him.

And-

And I'd welcome Sinestro as the villain.

I think depending on how Man of Tomorrow goes, which we know Pierre will be showing up in, i'd be very curious to see if they move pretty quickly towards making a green lantern film they've only done that once before of course the ryan reynolds blake lively movie that of course flopped tremendously you know 15 years ago but lanterns has really built up an audience you can see that as the nielsen data continues to come out and it's becoming a pretty solid hit for hbo on par with many of their other hits not at the level of like game of thrones of course or house of the dragon but definitely like a second tier like good hbo is happy with it level hit and you see the audience continuing to grow and grow i would not be shocked if the you know average viewers per episode really ticks up over the next six months you know that's again the benefit of a weekly show that's able to build an audience and build word of mouth all these things that netflix apparently just never cares about I will say that in the finale, I was not particularly invested in Billy Macon.

It seemed incredibly telegraphed that he was, in fact, a new Manhunter.

Of course, inheriting it or whatever from his grandmother, Zoe, who had already left the series.

So I thought I'd mention that.

We also had the return of Shea Pritchard as Noah Macon, Hannah Christine Shetler as Maggie, Jason Ritter as Billy Macon, Jared Grimes as the voice of Marcus Stewart, and Romeo Brown as the voice of Aaron Stewart, John's brothers.

J. Alphonse Nicholson turns up in a very surreal sequence later in this episode as John Stewart Sr., which we'll talk about.

and we had henry samiri as young hal jordan and a cameo by jade ramirez as jessica jordan so trivia the reason i wanted to bring up trivia this time is because of co-writer tom king we want to talk about because i want to kind of lay some context for our discussion about this lanterns episode that was co-written by tom king because i feel that tom king's previous work are perfect examples of the story that he's trying to write in this episode so to give a little background tom king is a former cia counterintelligence operative who uses his background to explore the heavy psychological toll of violence ptsd and depression in superhero comics In 2015, King wrote The Vision, Volume 3 for Marvel, which was a 12-issue series exploring a suburban family tragedy with the Vision creating his own synthetic android family.

So we go to the hat ceremony.

For those wondering what a hat ceremony is, in this case, it's when a star athlete declares by putting on a hat which team he's going to, which college he has accepted.

And know when he goes to play off you know college football or what have you so that's what that's what the hat ceremony is referring to and it's also kind of also relating to graduation when you're graduating high school as well so inside the hat ceremony which again is held inside the local high school gymnasium the coach unlike hal's coach is complimenting noah on doing things with his whole team and we see noah's dad Billy Macon in the stands and Carrie's kind of watching from the sidelines.

And so is John as he's entering.

Just keep that in mind.

Anyway, so there's Billy Macon.

That's Carrie's wife.

He enters the courtroom, takes on Hal as a client, and pays his very expensive bail with his dad's money.

John helps Sheriff Kari Kane capture a suspect involved in a mass shooting, but Kari forbids Hal from joining the investigation, believing the case has no extraterrestrial connection.

Hal gets himself arrested for a bar fight and is bailed out by Billy Macon, a lawyer and who happens to be Kari's husband.

In return, he agrees to meet Kari's father-in-law, William, who arranges for Hal to interrogate the suspect, Waylon Sanders.

During the interrogation, Hal exposes Sanders as an alien.

It's weird.

It's weird.

Uh, because it's one of those things where it's like Zoe is married to William, and they both had Billy, and Billy is married to Kari.

So, mother-in-law.
