Words simply cannot express the horror of the shock and the revulsion we all feel over what took place in this nation on Tuesday morning.

Uh, my parents spoke to me early and often about history, the Holocaust.

Uh, you know, I was very aware as a very small child about Corrie ten Boom's story, The Hiding Place, which permeated the evangelical world, thanks to the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association.

Uh, I became, you know, very much ingrained in these in my Christian school that made sure we saw the reel-to-reel footage of the Holocaust and understood it.

So I have been raised in the evangelical world, knowing many of some of the most well-known evangelical leaders in the country, many who have since passed away.

But what happened there is while...

So yeah, Mitt Romney, who's a Mormon, is running for the presidency, and, um, the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, which is wonderful, and I love, and I'm so grateful for, and I don't wanna be a critic of, Mormonism was listed as a cult, and they removed it.

Um, and I think it might've been Glenn Beck who helped that to happen.

Mm-hmm.

I'm going to say it was about four years ago, and I was in Charlotte, North Carolina, the Billy Graham Ministry, Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, and I got to go do staff devotions.

They have maybe 250, 300 people that work there, and so I went to do devotions.

and people were coming up and um a young man came up and he said mr mcfarland you don't know me but i'm a lawyer i work for franklin graham now and i go around the country and when will graham or franklin graham are going to do an event we help go through all the protocols to get them you know where they need to go and you don't know it but i was in middle school many years ago and uh you told me something i should do with my life to serve god do you know what it was and i said well i probably told you to become a constitutional lawyer and defend first amendment religious freedom he said that's exactly what you told me mr mcfarland he said i came up i was talking to you and i said i don't really want to be a preacher but i want to serve the lord somehow and And you said, well, consider becoming an attorney and defending the Constitution.
