Billy Elliot The Musical

One musical you could watch a thousand times?

Billy Elliot.

[gasps] Wow.

One musical you never need to see again?

God rest his soul, is still waiting at stage door with everyone else who's just watched Back to the Future.

Or Billy Elliot that's going in there next, I think.

Crazy.

Okay, story four.

It took the record over from Hello, Dolly!, which was in 1964.

Then in 2009, Billy Elliot drew with same amount of nominations, winning 10, so still not beating the 12 record for the most amount of wins.

And then Hamilton beat The Producers in 2016 with the amount of nominations, but still didn't beat the record for the most wins.

So still to this day, The Producers is the musical which has won the most Tony Awards in the whole time that the Tony Awards have been running.

I do too.

I remember the The first Broadway show that I saw was Billy Elliot when it was on Broadway.

And gosh, I don't even remember wh- I was, I was pretty young.

I was in single, single digit age, but it was...

We're very, we're, we, we're, we're a family who loves the arts.

But specifically seeing that show in that, in that young, impressionably, imp- impressionable age, that young impressionable age, I think really sparked, sparked a passion for doing theater.

So yeah, if anyone, if anyone wonders why this Alexander kid is, is doing theater, you can blame Billy Elliot on Broadway.

[laughs]

Oh, yeah.

I mean, he's, like, he was literally, like, one of the, was he the one in the original, Billy Elliot? Or is he not old enough for that? He's definitely Billy Elliot on, like, the West End.

And then I always just think of his, like, Rihanna umbrella thing when he did the lip sync battle.

Oh,

And, and I've seen it.

I was in Billy Elliot a couple of months ago, and, you know-

Oh, crap

... people pick it up like that.

screen for five years.

And Tom Holland, who is Spider-Man, who is married to Zendaya, got his start when he played Billy Elliot on stage.

In London, the West End.

His mom made all of

And then they get in your mind.

Like, I think I could do Billy Elliot just by myself.

I could do the dance moves.

Yeah.
