This is what also was terrible for the prosecution.

She's been able to hold herself together, except when the medical examiner is showing graphic images of her dead children.

So if she was just a cold psychopath, she wouldn't be wailing in tears as Judge Sullivan steps in and is like, God almighty.

And here you have the visual of two older men looking out for this woman while she is being, you know, cut open in front of the jury by these two women who are kind of soulless and unfeeling.

The visuals on that are not good.

What was happening to her in the weeks and months leading up to this?

I'm sure you have heard many stories about Jared Leto, as have I.

Not only that, but personal ones.

I mean, I've got a very, very close friend whose daughter was 16 years old, and with four of them, get an invite from, uh, a promoter type.

There's always a, a private number or there's, uh, an invite, you know, from a third party saying, "Jared's having a party.

Come over." And told me to my face that when she was 16 years old, she and three friends are at a party, and there's tons of girls all that age, and Jared and a few of his much older friends.

So his proclivities, you know, for young girls has been...

It's one of those things that's been around forever, you know, sort of like a Matt Lauer or a Harvey Weinstein, where there's rumors forever.

This guy doing what he's been doing lo these many years, reportedly, allegedly, and he's untouchable? Like we, like where are we?

What did you think?

You know, I think Trump is at his best when he's self-effacing, right? You can't top charming, self-effacing Trump.

He's got the riz.

There's no question about it.

When he's making jokes about himself, it's A+.

Even the MAGA faithful would say, though, when it turns to, like, grievance-laden and – you know, personal insults.

It's not his best.

What should I have done there?

When you got your ass kicked and fired, before that, did you ever, well, one, did you remember the conversation that you'd had with Trump? Nope.

None at all.

Tonight on Access Hollywood and also on the radio show, I have an interview with Miss California, the executive director, Shana Mochler, formerly of the Meet the Barkers on MTV and also a former Miss USA host.

She, I asked her, I said, before the pageant, did you guys buy Miss California and pay for her breast augmentation? She admitted, yes, they did.

I didn't know that was, I mean, that that was offered as part of the gig, but we kind of get into it on how those, how then all those negotiations went down and whose idea it was, which is, and it's interesting because that's what was on her mind going in and coming out.

Obviously, she's like a transformed person.

Do you agree or disagree with her response? Not necessarily her actual opinion, but in the way she answered on the pageant and in that forum.

Billy, what was, what was the precipitating event? Not that that event in any way justifies that rant we just saw.

Um, there was no precipitating event.

I remember the same thing happening when we did a two-way.

We had connected with Al on a satellite when he was down, you know, uh, uh, uh, in a hurricane.

He was doing hurricane footage, and they wanted to promote that Al, you know, isn't just this soft, fluffy, you know, studio rat, that he actually gets out and, and, and meets the elements every once in a while.

So they connected when I was at Access Hollywood.

They put it together, and he went off and did his thing.

It's such-

We go, "Okay, if we were to reach every person, how much would it cost to reach every person with this ad or with this or with that?" But they're actually talking about how much does it cost to pick up a ballot? How much does a vote cost? And I was shocked to hear that people are selling their votes for two and three dollars.

Yeah, and a couple of cigarettes.

Uh, y- [chuckles] Abso- That's, that's, it's, it's...

You, you saw the, the Justice Department, you know, busted that woman.

She's more of a regis- I-- You know, look, I, I, I wanna say in fair- i-in fairness, it's not fairness, but I...

Look, I spoke to a very high-powered Republican election lawyer, uh, Republican election lawyer, and she told me it's mostly about voter registration, um, you know, all, all the hustle they do down there.

So what's taking so long to count the ballots?

They just, this is, this is, this is their voter reg- [laughs] this is their voter laws.

It's unbelievable.

It's deeply entrenched, as you know.

They wanna give everybody...

And it's always left-leaning, so all the left-leaning ballots come in.

Um, you know, for Nithya Raman to actually close all the way in on Spencer Pratt and surpass him would really be...

Uh, s- who has a better shot at victory, Steve Hilton in the governor's race or Spencer Pratt in the mayor's race?

Is that true, Billy?

I mean, I don't I mean, I really more than you would imagine.

I mean, David Foster and Catherine McPhee had a fundraiser for Spencer.

Doug Ellen, the creator of Entourage, is, you know, risking, I guess, risking his career by supporting someone other than the established entrenched candidate, which would be Karen Bass.

Yeah, I think it's I don't know if it's still considered bold or dangerous or risky to think for yourself, but it has to be a little, but maybe less, maybe less now.

I mean, I went to Spencer's party last night, the the results party.

Which, by the way, I have to remind myself, like, we don't get results, okay? It goes on for days and we have to wait for, you know, the ballots that have been, you know, stamped and postmarked and, you know, on time.

You'd think if there's one person who would actually like really care about this, it would be the guy who has to do his show right in the middle of it.

And this station, and the Extras saw me, and they had an event in DC, and they said, "Do you wanna be a special correspondent for our show?" I said, "Sure, man, I'll be on TV, it's great." Well, the local news director in New York at WNBC, the local station, was watching.

And, uh, and she called me the next day and said, "We saw you.

I was watching, you know, this Extra in my office, uh, came on after our news and I saw you.

Would you like to, you know, do some things for us? We're looking for something fun, lighter in our morning show, our early morning show that comes on before the Today Show." So I said, "Yeah." So for, once a week I started taking the train up to New York, doing different little-

... "G- can, I'm just here as a young guy starting out looking for some advice.

What can you tell me?" And he did say, "So listen, you need to know this in this business.

I don't wanna..." He says, um, uh, Billy Bob says, "I'm radically moderate." Is this a new trend?

That's what I tell...

I call it radical centrism.

Look, I think it is, it- it- it- y- i- it's proven that a- anyone who opens their mouth in the celebrity world, no matter what it is, if it's on politics or anything, there is an army, a cabal of little, you know, digital keyboard gangsters ready to listen to every word, clip something off, weaponize it against them, a- a- and make them pay for it.

Brian, I like a world where people say stuff.You know what I mean? Like, I was talking to Bill Maher not long ago.

Bill Maher was like, "No real, you know, Hollywood actors will come on my show," at all.

And so Jerry's clearly warmer than I am, but I am so nervous.

And the interview's rolling, and then I start thinking about how it's going great, and this, another voice comes in, and I'm so young at the, um...

And then I s- talk myself out of the fact that it might be going great.

And broadcast news occurs.

Yeah.

NBC put out an APB for all tapes.

It w- When this came out, it was because there, a contestant in a Miss Universe Pageant had said, "Donald Trump has said terrible things about me." And he said, "I never talk like that at all." And then NBC sent out to all their divisions, "Look for your tapes." Now, the ones they wanted belonged to Mark Burnett and are in a vault somewhere in Idaho, and those are all the outtakes from The Apprentice set.

But someone at Access Hollywood said, "Oh, wait a minute, we have that thing from 11 years ago.

What about that? Didn't he say something about furniture buying and all this stuff? And we..." So then they took that and sent it to NBC News hoping to, you know, Access Hollywood, the little, you know, the, the tiniest little division of NBC News that's not even recognized.

Like, "Look, look what we did.

We've got the thing." And they went, "Oh, you've done so great.

... 2005?

Costly.

it costs a lot of money to make that.

The Apprentice cost nothing, and his ratings were huge.

So this was a cash cow, and they had, you know...

They would've fired me for injuring their cash cow.

But then years later, the falling out and the pageants that he used to own the pageant and air it on NBC, and they have litigation and they hate him.

Can't get permits.

It's the same, uh, you know...

L- look, it's the same, it's the same problem as what's going on, uh, you know, in the film industry, you know, is permitting.

Permitting is a huge problem.

Red tape in Los Angeles is a huge problem.

Bureaucracy is a huge problem.

The guy you want to listen to is, uh, is, is Rick Caruso.

The tape is just, like, faded into the past.

The day before that Monday, Rob Silverstein called me in New York, and he just said, "Hey, just, you know, NBC's asking.
