Billy Barty

And so I was raised in that, doing recitals growing up at the, uh, the Orange Show.

My mother was in the San Bernardino Civic Light Opera, uh, musicals and theater with Billy Barty and Michelle Lee and Robert Goulet, like all those old standard folks.

Um, so I grew up around it.

So I've always want- I've tap dancing since I was four.

And then, uh, I just started doing commercials and modeling right away.

And so just kind of branched off and that's, that's my niche.

I don't think I've heard Billy Barty's name in a really long time.

I know, right?

I don't want to get canceled.

That quartet of little people... was led by the iconic Billy Barty, Felix Cilia, who is best known as Cousin It from the Addams Family TV show, Emery Souza, and Tommy Madden.

This foursome loved actually working on Halloween because they were used as actors with no jokes made at the expense of their height.

That's true.

Like he's a little obnoxious and his facial makeup isn't the best because his mouth can barely move.

But he's a funny character and he's played well by Billy Barty, I believe is the name of the actor.

Uh, and it looks like Chevy Chase and Carrie Fisher are in it.

And Billy Barty.

And Billy Barty.

Who's a famous little person, right?

Uh-huh.

When I moved to LA, when I was finishing up school at Long Beach State in 1983, I went to see New Order.

I think it was their first show in America, and they played a a roller rink, Billy Barty's roller rink.

And I remember going in there and Blue Monday was the track that radio was playing like crazy.

And that's how the show opened.

Was this Roller Rink in Long Beach?

billy barty's it wasn't somewhere they did shows normally they did some punk shows there stuff like that so when new order was playing there i was like it was i don't know i wish i could remember exactly how many days it was mentioned it was happening but uh you know sold out everybody wanted to see it at the time and i just remember thinking wow this is a heck of a way to open up your show this is play the song everybody is expecting and no one's on stage it's just the drum machine dude

I don't know if anybody remembers Billy Barty.
