And they used to have the Pro Arena Leagues in Dallas and L.A. And Brad Shearer and John Sieber were both eight goals in the arena.

And they were playing with Bill Walton.

And Bill Walton was nine.

Is

that Will's dad?

Yeah.

And Bill Walton was kind of on the cusp of being ten goals in the arena.

Wow.

Anyway, the next day, it's B Squadron's turn to lead off.

So this is Mickey Gold and Bill Walton, and they're with the 7 Hampshires, and they have much better-

Yeah

... coordination than A Squadron had the previous day.

And the engineers have to come up, and they've got to sweep for mines, and i- i- you know, it j- it just takes place.

And then there's lots of shell damage, so you've got to find routes around the craters, et cetera, et cetera.

So anyway, Bill Walton's troop leads the advance later that evening, and then C Squadron follows, and Stuart Hills, who's in, in, in A Squadron, eventually catches up.

A- and he says, "Cagnic is a terrible mess, like every other Normandy village we've fought through." You know, of course, because it's in the, it's in the firing line.

I, I, I thought it'd be good to do another little letter from, from, from Bill Walton.

"Now that life has become easier this last week or so for us, you realize what a time we had during the first month, which I should hate to have to go through again.

People tell me I'm thinner, which I can see in my face now as that of a sinister gangster.

I mean, it's awful.

Terrible start to the day.

And later on, Bill Walton and Mickey Gold attend an open air church service at 2nd Army headquarters, um, and they stand next to General Montgomery himself.
