This is what I love about trawling the archives of horror, particularly on Amazon, as you find hidden gems like this tucked away that may have passed you by the first time around.

Children of Sorrow was directed by Jordan McClure, a relatively unknown director, having only done about three films, and it stars Bill Oberst Jr. as the main character Simon Leach.

First thing I'm going to address is a mistake that everyone seems to claim about this film is that it's a found footage movie, and it's not.

At no point in this film is it said that this is a found footage, and at the start of the film it states it's based off of an emergency call where bodies were found.

The supporting cast in Children of Sorrow are all totally believable as vulnerable young adults.

They're all plausible, their stories are plausible and they all come across as the type of people that would be drawn into this sort of community.

Bill Oberst Jr. is fantastic as the creepy yet charismatic cult leader Simon.

He's manipulative, violent yet charming and uplifting and behind the scenes away from others he's a totally sexually charged perverted killer.
