Bill Knowles

I've been referencing it probably for almost 20 years now.

There was a slide from a presentation that Bill Knowles did.

That was a really good slide where he just had a large circle and a small circle inside of it.

And in the large circle, it said.

And I show that to pain patients or people who have hesitancies around certain movements or around certain exercises or might even be dealing with like, hey, I just tore my ACL and emotionally they're really down.

And so I've always referenced that slide.

And so I want to give credit to Bill Knowles because that was literally like 2009 maybe.

And Like you said, yes, societally or your medical doctor, we tend to bastardize either exercises and or tools.

He's too small.

He's too short for people to go, this guy.

Like you don't...

You know, people want a... six foot two prop and he's like not six foot two he's probably I don't know I don't know I don't want to give a number I know he's not he's not five ten for example and that probably counts against sometimes it's you just don't fit the bill of what phenomenal and he's probably the one guy that really sticks out to me just right well there's one other guy there's one other guy um yeah so alan was phenomenal and just nasty and could scrummage we played against him once when he went he went to penzance and he was just nasty and he fired their team up to be uh horrible And then the other player was really unfortunate with what happened to him, which people may or may not know about.

It's Russell Thompson.

Russell Thompson was, so he played county NPC in New Zealand, which is Jonah Lomu's team.

It's a tough life.

And I think if you come out of there as a rugby player, you're going to be hard as nails.

It's massive inhibition that's in Bill Knowles' terminology, like there's a padlock on top of that, that just we're trying to smash open.

And that's where, you know, the use of neuromuscular electrical stimulation is so really valuable in the acute stage and in early phase.
