Bill Cummings

And luckily for me, in 1992, there was a conference in Chicago called where all of the leading lights of the stained glass conservation profession gathered.

Bill Cummings was there.

He was actually a speaker.

And so he showed pictures of the Berkshire Hills and the studio nestled in downtown North Adams, which was perfectly easy to get to on the one road with no traffic of any kind.

I have feelings about that overpass.

But it comes in at the end.

So, when Bill Cummings called me in Chicago to say, how soon can you get here? Like, this was the call I'd been waiting for.

That this was late August of 1993.
