Big Diomede Island

Little Diomede is the uncomfortable detail.

It sits about two miles from Russia's Big Diomede.

This is not a metaphor.

It is a line of sight.

It is interesting, however, that there is evidence, and this evidence was found on Little Diomede Island of a much lower ocean.

That is to say, when they went and tried to put in a new port on Little Diomede, and Little Diomede is one of two islands, Little Diomede being Alaska, Big Diomede being Russia.

And they face each other from a mile and a half away.

And the Russian island is in addition to being on the.

Anyway, when they went to do the port, they found about 75 feet down the ruins of an ancient village, they found a graveyard.

So this means that at one time, yeah, the water was low enough to create a land bridge because the water is only about 75 feet deep there.

And that ranges, you know, in addition to a mile and a half between Little Diomede and Big Diomede, It's only about, I don't know, 25 miles from the Alaskan coast and about 35 miles from the Russian coast.

However, the land bridge in itself is really quite irrelevant because in that kind of shallow water in the winter, in a cold winter, that all becomes ice and it's completely walkable.
