However, lead singer Dave McWane said that the band actually got their name when a friend, Connor Donnelly, told him that if he ever started a band, he should call it Big D and the kids table.

So he did.

I understand the band will be touring big D and the kids table throughout September and October.

Tell us a little bit about that.

And it was Strike Anywhere, Big D and the Kids Table, which is a ska band.

Those were the openers.

And then Alexis on Fire was, what's the one that's not the headliner? They're like the underwriter act or whatever.

None of these bands I'm going to list won it, but here's some other bands that competed in it over the years.
