The British Restorationist says that's because God is restoring apostles and prophets as the authority structure.

The only biblical authority structure there is, apparently.

The heavy shepherding guy said something similar.

They said, well, we don't know if we want to call them apostles, but everybody needs a shepherd.

Whatever he says is the way it goes.

And that way they can still

say that they hold to biblical authority.

Yes.

Now we're going to move on to the authority section.

And before we go any further regarding this, I think this would be a good place to kind of stop for a second and address biblical authority and biblical submission.

And I want to do this because our cultural understanding really plays a part in this.

Our English definitions of these words really play a part in this because of abuse of passages like this, or it led to abuse of passages like this and like in 1 Corinthians as well.

We call that a submission hold.

It's kind of like, fine, you win, I give up, you beat me, I'm in a lot of pain right now, you can just do whatever you want.

And we can tend to look at biblical submission and biblical authority in that same way.

So I want to counter how we naturally think of submission in our culture and in English with what biblical submission and biblical authority look like.
