Beyond Wrestling

Um, so I think that-- I mean, that combined with the, his successful wrestling career and his successful music career and the way that he just connected with everybody immediately is, you know, I think it, to me explains, and not surprisingly so, uh, just to the outpouring, uh, that, that we're seeing here.

Um, and then so when, when I-- The peak of my, my wrestling career was probably 2019, uh, when we, we took a number of trips out to, um, to Worcester, to Worcester, Massachusetts, for Beyond Wrestling, and, uh, Butch and The Blade were an emerging tag team at that point.

And I remember some of these really long car trips from, from Worcester to, to Buffalo, which is something like a six-hour drive or something like that.

And I can remember, you know, being sort of half asleep, and, uh, Andy Williams is at the, the driver's seat, and, like, it's probably 4:00 or 5:00 in the morning, and we're in, like, the last couple hours of the drive, and he's just like, he's cranking out some, some kinda, some kinda death metal, and he's just, you know, bobbing his head and driving.

For some reason, I don't see my graphic, but also this week, uh, part three of our USWA lawsuit or a USWA and the lawsuit that killed wrestling glass territory.

Part three, where, uh, Rob and myself are joined by Tony Myers for an episode of Beyond Wrestling.

Tony was subpoenaed in some of those trials and the Larry Burton, Selker, USWA lawsuits.

And so join us for Beyond Wrestling as that saga continues.

And, man, Tony had a lot of information we didn't have.

He had some paperwork he shared with us that we had not seen, which answered a lot of questions and created some others.

I think when I was 13 and it was a game where like I really got into the season mode of it all and whatnot.

I am good, excited cuz I got to see some of our evolved superstars last weekend at American Rana at Beyond Wrestling.

So super excited.

But again, if you want to watch the show, his show is available on YouTube.

What the hell led us to this?

Well, so that was during a Beyond Wrestling special.

It was like Ricky's death day or something.

Yes.

These are the connections that I made because I stuck with BWO because I watched the place come up and come up, and they brought me into their fold, right? So this is why we say give back to your place and stay with your place as long as you can and reap those fruits and reap those benefits, right? Eventually, BWO, it goes defunct.

What do I do? Where do I go? You know, 2013, 2014, right? I'm over at Beyond Wrestling.

I'm wrestling down there.

That's where I met you.

There was obviously the Backyard Wrestling Link, which was our forum that... literally had people posting from all over the world um and that's how we kind of made the connections that the previous summer my crew we traveled to just outside of cleveland ohio and we wrestled on backer for seven and um met a lot of people there and then from then on you know we were all over the east coast and um people would come here for shows regularly eventually we uh went to england and worked some shows later on that decade i was on backyard shows with the teenage will osprey um and some other people i mean he's clearly the biggest name that i ever was on shows with but a lot of people who are still stalwarts of the independent scene now that i met through backyard wrestling.

And then years later, I ended up getting booked on shows outside of my region because of knowing people through backyarding and ending up working for Beyond Wrestling in the East Coast and working for Freelance in Chicago and meeting some other connections of people that I knew through backyarding.

or people who I didn't even really know through backyarding, but like secretly lurked on that message board.

Like Eric Stevens famously lurked on that message board.

Then you don't want to...

That is one question I have for Lainey Luck when I go to the Beyond Wrestling event at the end of the month.

I don't know if she'll let me interview her on camera, but that is the one question I'm asking her.

Like, I have it ingrained in my head as I'm, like, thinking of questions.
