Betz mystery sphere

It was a perfectly smooth stainless steel ball, roughly the size of a bowling ball, that seemingly possessed a mind of its own.

Known as the Betz Mystery Sphere, the object became the subject of intense media scrutiny, government X-rays, and rampant speculation.

Was it an extraterrestrial probe, a piece of fallen Soviet satellite debris, or simply an industrial mechanism repurposed into an elaborate hoax? On March twenty-sixth, nineteen seventy-four, a brush fire swept through an eighty-eight acre tract of woodland on Fort George Island, Florida, owned by Antoine and Gerri Betz.

The following day, the couple, along with their twenty-one-year-old son, Terry Matthew Betz, went to inspect the damage.

Was it an extraterrestrial probe, a piece of fallen Soviet satellite debris, or simply an industrial mechanism repurposed into an elaborate hoax? On March 26, 1974, a brush fire swept through an 88-acre tract of woodland on Fort George Island, Florida, owned by Antoine and Jerry Betz.

The following day, the couple, along with their 21-year-old son, Terry Matthew Betz, went to inspect the damage.

By the late 1970s, the media frenzy died down and the Betz family retreated from the public eye.

They stopped giving interviews and the sphere was locked away.

To this day, the current whereabouts of the Betz mystery sphere are completely unknown.

Now it's presumed to still be in the possession of the Betz descendants, sitting quietly in a box, a heavy, polished relic of 1970s high strangeness.
