The Playhouse closed in the 60s, but the location is still a theater to this day.

After the dissolution of his marriage to portrait artist Betty Warren and the closing of the theater, Lancaster moved to Los Angeles and took up with the exploitation film crowd, starring in a half-dozen films for Meyer, as well as a number of films from exploitation kingpin David F. Friedman.

His most high-profile films were those he made at the end of his career with Tim Burton, but he'll always be best remembered as the old man in Myers' faster pussycat Kill Kill.
