Wow.

It's just photo perfect.

Well, if you go to Pennsylvania, you'll have to stop off at Lana Ingalls painted leaf hosta garden because she she was a guest we had a few weeks ago.

And oh, my goodness.

You talk about that better homes and gardens magazine front.

Wow.

So

before that, it was like Better Homes and Gardens and Ladies Home Journal.

She's changing the landscape.

And recipes and crafts.

And then they do the other bits, the bits where they do the gardening and the painting and the cooking.

Better Homes and Gardens.

That's

the one.

With the growth of women's magazines, there was what was called the Seven Sisters, which was a group of women's magazines that targeted women with husbands and children and were to assist homemakers at the time.

Within this list, uh, that we can include the original Ladies Home Journal magazine, but also, um, Family Circle, McCall's, Redbook, and three that are still circulating today, Better Homes and Gardens, Women's Day, and Good Housekeeping, which, yeah, speaking of Good Housekeeping, the magazine actually started in 1885, which is more than a century ago.

Ugh.

Um, here's a little bit about the magazine from an article from mylifetime.com. "On May 2nd, 1885, the first issue of Good Housekeeping magazine was published.

CNN anchor Casey Hunt found the permanence she'd always wanted in a landmark 1949 modernist house in Bethesda, Maryland.

The home was featured in the May 1954 issue of Better Homes and Gardens.

I actually had them frame it, and now it hangs in the half bath on the first floor.

Your deck is leaking into the room below, but your DIY skills are suspect.

It's really very much still true to what was originally there in a way that I really love.

Although I do wish, again, that I could take the bathrooms back in time.

[laughs] The home was featured in the May 1954 issue of Better Homes and Gardens, and they did have a copy of it when you went to look at the house.

So I actually took one of those issues to Michael's and had them frame it, and now it hangs in the half bath on the first floor, the Better Homes and Gardens article.

For the past 15 years, she has been encouraging women to embrace their space, imperfections and all, and make it their own.

Her home in North Carolina has been featured in Better Homes and Gardens, Ladies' Home Journal, and Cottage and Bungalows.

She's never met a home she didn't love.
