Bess Armstrong

Yeah

... um, it stars Dennis Quaid, Bess Armstrong, Simon MacCorkindale, Lewis Gossett Jr., P.H. Moriarty, Lea Thompson, and a bunch of other people.

[laughs] Yeah.

Uh, yes.

...

Jack Weston, and Best Armstrong.

The estimated budget was $6.5 million.

The estimated box office was $50.4 million, and that's according to Wikipedia.

Well-

...

Armstrong's butt.

Whoop-de-ding.

I just thought he was just energetic.

Shout out Bess Armstrong, who played his love interest.

Shout out Leah Thompson.

Love Leah Thompson.

yeah

if you grew up in that year in that time it captures that era just right and the camaraderie between that you know i mean them going to the bar with the brother you know i mean the weight the friendship with the waitress you know i mean the the other staff members even with the audience you know i mean

Yeah, Bess Armstrong, she played Catherine.

She was the trainer, and like you said, she wanted to nurse the shark back.

Yes

... and I'm speaking as a person who once found Bess Armstrong super, super sexy.

Oh.

That is a very patrician haircut, and it just doesn't read hot to me.

I, you know, High Road to China was one of those movies that was on HBO a lot, so therefore I watched it a ton.

It's probably terrible.

I haven't gone back to watch it, but I thought Bess Armstrong was so awesome, and, like, just so stylish and such a awesome badass.

And then when she showed up as a mom in My So-Called Life, I was really, really excited.

[upbeat music] Hey, I'm Lisa Wilhoit, and I play Danielle Chase.

And I'm Bess Armstrong, and I played her mother, Patty Chase.

And I'm, uh, Claire Danes, and I played Angela Chase.

[laughs]

Yeah.

See, I think this is where, um, Bess is a good sport because as an actor, she realizes that she has to be here-

Your father and I-

... to, uh, motivate Claire's reaction

We were all just sitting there waiting, and finally this guy-

Bessie was just so good, and she was so ...

I loved how annoying she could be as a person.

[laughs]

It feels like we've done a whole episode and we've only featured Arrow, and we're carrying on with Arrow because we've got to mention their sub-label, Toy Robot Video.

So this will be their second month of releases, and they start with a 19th of October release of High Road to China, an action-adventure starring Tom Selleck and Bess Armstrong that I will be honest, pass me by.

In High Road to China, take an adventure you'll never forget.

You'll be my welcome guests

Okay.

Mine's the ending of High Road to China with Tom Selleck and Beth Armstrong when that old Dorothy World War II biplane is just flying and gliding.

And Horner is playing in the background, I believe.

Or it might have been Williams.
