That's what broke up his marriage.

His wife, well, his ex-wife, Debbie, played by Jessica Wrenn, has a new partner and she's pregnant and her partner is a cop called Bill McCracken played by Bert Labonte and Ian has a son called Dean played by Tobias Muhafadin from a previous relationship yeah so anyway long story short there's a discovery of some human remains in a forest okay and they think it's child about the age mags was when she disappeared and and the remains appear to be from about that time um so yeah obviously he's like desperate to know they're both desperate to know is this our daughter you know we finally found her so that's what yeah pretty much takes up um episode one and yes unfortunately he hits the bottle again he gets involved in a sort of domestic abuse case that they took a call about at the at the call center yeah he has some sort of ups and downs with his he's still on quite good terms with his ex-wife but yeah he's just as soon as he goes back on the bottle things start to deteriorate quite quickly and it's got maxine pete it as well i won't tell you too well she's actually plays the wife of the brother of a guy who is, in Alcoholics Anonymous, you sort of have a buddy, don't you, who helps you and accompanies you on the journey.

So, yeah, that's her connection to this.

And what is going to happen, I believe, is that he will receive a call from a girl who he thinks... is his daughter and, and that she's still alive.
