ZainabHOST
3:41

ZainabHOST

ZainabHOST

Grace RobinsonHOST
21:05
But all I want to say is go read this New York Times article.
Grace RobinsonHOST
21:10
or new york time new york times article it's very very interesting and then the final story the last thing that i want to talk about is kind of moving into fashion retail so you may or may not know but there's this brand called lefties and it's owned by Inditex which is the parent company of Zara and also Inditex owns like Pull&Bear, Stradivarius, Bershka I believe as well they basically own a load of fast fashion big brands and Lefty's has actually been around for a long time I think it's been around since the 90s and I think it originally started as a way for the Zara brand to get rid of product that wasn't selling or last season discount product something like that and then eventually it moved into creating its own products so women's wear men's wear kids wear teen wear home wear absolutely everything and everything for a lower price and the reason that i wanted to mention lefties is because number one i've been seeing it in the fashion business headlines so much recently so it feels like it really is expanding and also from last week's fashion media cycle, I noticed that it has just opened its first ever physical store in the UK.
Grace RobinsonHOST
22:36
And they've also just done their first e-commerce for the UK as well, I believe.
Grace RobinsonHOST
22:41
So even if you're not in the UK, I think the takeaway is that lefties is really expanding and I think this was a good reminder, for me at least, that there's so much nuance to fast fashion.

So I used to work for a company called Inditex.
Tan FranceGUEST
4:07
Inditex owns Zara, Bershka, Stradivarius, a bunch of other co- companies, Pull&Bear.
Tan FranceGUEST
4:12
Um, and one of my first jobs at Inditex was, uh, for a company called Bershka, which I don't think we have in America.
Tan FranceGUEST
4:18
Maybe I'm wrong.
Tan FranceGUEST
4:19
But it was very successful in Europe.
