doug@cruiseradio.net.Last month, Chris took a seven-night cruise out of Baltimore to Bermuda with a little bit of, uh, well, some extended time in Bermuda.

He joins us to talk all about that sailing.

Mm.

Bermuda.

I know that shit was hot as a bitch.

Bro, that last day.

While the Pacific has been extremely active with 14 named storms and five hurricanes, none of the five tropical storms born this year in the Atlantic Basin has earned hurricane status.

Forecasters are now monitoring a system 1,000 miles east-southeast of Bermuda.

The man behind an alleged Ponzi scheme is behind bars after defrauding millions of dollars from would-be investors, including Travis Kelsey.

Now it's 18%.

So we've lost about $1.1 trillion in taxes over the last 20 years because your Galen Westons, your Toby Lukas, these guys are hiding all their money in banks in the Seychelles, or your Mark Carney's, they're figuring out how to put money into a bike shop in Bermuda so that they don't have to pay the taxes here.

And then the rest of us, whether you're a small business owner or whether you're just a regular Joe, You don't have access to those kinds of fancy loopholes and those tricks.

And so the disproportionate amount of how we pay for the things that we all need, that falls on you.

We often look at what is the cost of that in terms of services? What's the cost of that in terms of your kid's school, the ventilation doesn't work, there's no AC in the summer, they're wearing winter coats in the wintertime, that sort of thing.

But I think there is a flip side to that.

That is also very interesting, which is, you know, what does that mean for regular people? You know, if Brookfield hides a few billion dollars in a bike shop in Bermuda, what does that mean for you in terms of what you have to recoup? Yeah, and your family.

Taxes.

And there's a lot easier places to go do it.

You could just jump on a flight and go across the Atlantic to the Azores or Cape Verde or even Bermuda.

But... no doubt that potential is not explored that it could be.

Those big fish are there.

Most of the vessels in the broad path of the storm as it progressed farther into the Caribbean, including several warships, foundered with all their crews.

It drove 50 vessels ashore at Bermuda on the 18th.

Before this terrible storm reached Bermuda, another one roared out of the western Caribbean, crossed western Cuba, and passed into the Gulf of Mexico on October 18.

Unaware of the approach of this hurricane, a Spanish fleet of 74 warships under Admiral Solano sailed from Havana into the Gulf to attack Pensacola.

They were trapped in the eastern section of the Gulf and 19 ships were lost.

In the reaction there are towering seas and hazardous gales that are well known to seamen.

As these big storms roar past Cape Hatteras, the winds shift to northwest and the sky clears, unless you happen to be on shipboard and the tops of big waves are being torn off by the wind and thrown into the air to pass overhead in streaks or splatter on the decks.

In the days of the sailing ship, the master was not surprised when he got into trouble in the area between Bermuda and Hatteras.

I'll keep you updated if that changes.

In the tropics, a slow hurricane season so far, and now this area of low pressure near Bermuda has a 40% chance of development.

Bottom line, whatever it becomes will stay away from the east coast.

Today, warmer, more humid, 81, and then a few scattered showers initially north and west of the city, getting closer to the city and the rest of the coastline later this evening.

There's one disturbance in the tropics.

Near Bermuda, it has a medium chance to develop into a depression by the end of the week.
