Berkeley County

In the city of Charleston, there's two.

Two, Dorchester and? Berkeley and Charleston.

Okay.

Can you get 12 random people Let's say you go to Hollywood.

I don't even know you should be watching this podcast.

But anyway, today I am joined by Ralph Prelo Jr., a candidate for Berkeley County Council District 7. running under the message, A Strong Voice in Berkeley.

Ralph's campaign focuses on keeping Berkeley County affordable, improving access to essential services, and strengthening the community for current and future generations.

And I'm excited to dive deeply with this conversation.

So how are you today?

Started there.

They asked me to be the county chair.

I was the county chair for Berkeley County for three years.

Well, I grew up in an unincorporated community, very, very small town called Cross, South Carolina.

It's nestled in Berkeley County.

It's a very small area.

You blink, you'll miss it.

You had it with relatives and you had it, you know, with the with the change of residence with your mom.

Yep, yep.

My mom lived in another town in Berkeley County called Monk's Corner, right next to Cross.

A little bit more developed.

That sounds like a tax revenue nightmare.

It's located in Charleston, Berkeley, and Dorchester counties.

And North Charleston, of course, is an industrial and manufacturing center for the state of South Carolina.

It's very close to the port.

Today on the Teaming Against Trauma podcast, we have the Berkeley County Mental Health Center's Director of Outpatient Services, Stephanie Steele.

So good afternoon.

Thank you so much for being on the podcast.

And so that's what we're there for.

And we do see quite a lot of success with mobile crisis.

People do use us a lot in Berkeley County, which we're very, very thankful for.

We want people to be reaching out for help.

That means we're doing something right.

Fort Mill is winning noisily, and we hear you.

If they had on their jerseys Rock Hill or Northwestern or even Berkeley or Somerville or maybe even James Island, we'll get to them, or Dorman.

And their scores were 28-7, 38-17, 41-6, 43-7.

You wouldn't be able to stop talking about them.

And I guess maybe it depends on where you run into them in the playoffs.

Yes.

But in the lower states, you've got Berkeley and James Allen seeming to separate a little bit.

What is Sumter down there? How far does that running game take Drew Marleau? How much can Franklin Richardson progress over the course of the season and maybe balance out that offensive attack? But in the upstate, you know what you're getting in 5A with Northwestern.

Two, Dorchester and Charleston.

Berkeley and Charleston.

Okay.
