Beornings

Super, super nice guy.

Uh, uh, he was playing the Beornings, and we ended up playing Fog of War.

Uh, we were playing on a cool, like, Harad Umbar board.

I guess it's an Umbar board.

There were ships on the side.

Uh, and Fog of War's a weird one into the Beornings, right? Because everything is tied into Grimbion and that piece of terrain.

Um, basically pushed forwards.

I had bats, he had bears.

But, you know, I could almost pity these.

And it's certainly not anything like the Beornings where it's passed through the blood or anything like this because there are some orcs that are this way and there's some humans that are this way.

I can see the scenario where, well, son, we got your werewolf aptitude test back.

Well, you can't be a werewolf.

You keep going and, um, you go past where you turn off to Beorn's house.

You do see one or two other Beornings in the distance going back there.

Well, they're mostly herders or people like that.

You can tracks them.

And what was the the.

well what became Mirkwood what's known as the Veils of Anduin where Bjorn the Bjornings are right? The Wilderland yes and now I was kind of surprised that like that was actually that's one of the reasons I was surprised that Bjorn like in the Bjornings never really heard of hobbits before they kind of inherited the land from them in effect but whatever

I feel like everybody spends time in that land at some point.

I mean, the Rohirrim came from there.

I'll just do this arbitrarily.

My next one, I'm going to say Beornings, specifically the Warriors.

Yeah.

Because they should also be shapeshifters.

Anyway, Samir was fantastic.

He was playing the Beornings with, of course, Beorn and Grim Beorn, and then at 750 points, you get 17 Beornings.

He had some number of them with great bows who were devastatingly effective due to the fact that I played this game.

pretty poorly we ended up playing domination so we've got our five objectives or not domination um yeah no it was it was domination and honestly they ended up like they normally do which is like the five pattern on a die they were just kind of spread around the board um Not super thrilled with how I played this.

I rode him off around behind a building and thought he was fine.

Didn't double check where the archers were.

And one of those Beornings with a great bow lined up a beautiful shot and shot Bolg off of his warg on turn one.

I knew I wasn't going to spend the game on the warg because with two bears around, you honestly just need to be on foot so that you can hide in the swarm of orcs a little better before you get eaten by a giant bear but i wanted at least one charge with bolg on his wog maybe two so it was really tough to lose it on turn one i had bolg and one captain uh sorry the army i should tell you should tell you what's in my army the army is bolg of course on a felwag He's leading 15 Gundabad Orcs or something like that.

Um, you get to do some useful tasks around the place.

You get to know some of the Beornings.

Um, mainly you're very respected by them.

Uh, a number of people say you should join the Beornings.

Uh, uh, Beorn makes hints that, you know, he'd make you one of his sort of chief kind of henchmen if you, uh, were to kind of, um, come and become one of his sworn men.
