Ibn Ishaq claimed that it was Moses who conquered Jerusalem with Joshua serving under him.

In his journey, the story of Balaam the son of Beor is mentioned.

Allah the Most High says, and recite to them the tale of the one to whom we gave our ayat signs, but he threw them away, so Satan followed him, and he became of those who went astray.

And if we had willed, we could have elevated him with our ayat, but he clung to the earth and followed his desire.

But let's look first at 2 Peter, chapter 2, verse 15, and see what Peter writes.

Forsaking the right way, they have gone astray, having followed the way of Balaam, the son of Beor.

who loved the wages of unrighteousness.

This man Balaam was a pagan sorcerer.

O my people, remember, please.

What did Balak, king of Moab, propose? What did Bilam, son of Beor, answer him? From Shittim as far as Gilgal, so that you might acknowledge the righteous acts of the Lord.

With what shall I come before the Lord? With what shall I bow myself before God on high? Shall I present him with burnt offerings, with year-old calves? Will the Lord be pleased with thousands of rams, with hordes of rivers of oil? Shall I offer my firstborn for my transgression, the fruit of my belly for the sin of my soul? He has told you, humanity, what is good and what the Lord is seeking from you, only to practice justice, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.

The voice of the Lord calls to the city.
