Bent's Old Fort National Historic Site

Yeah.

One that I think of is, is being pried more of some statewide interest starting with Ben's Fort.

Yeah.

We've talked about it before.

Um, there was a meeting that I tuned into with, uh, one is a tourism board and, Most recently, last night, the National Park Service had a webinar bringing together people interested in the future of Ben's Fort, which if people have been following us, we've talked about this before, the future is uncertain at Ben's Fort.

And I think this is significant when we think about Um, this place really being like, uh, a cornerstone, I would say of Colorado history, you know, the place that people point to is some point to is opening the West, right? This place where people, uh, following the Santa Fe trail gathered, right? People, uh, travelers, fur trappers, um, native people came together and traded and, as they were going about their ways.

Just an extremely historic place that long predated statehood, you know, of Colorado.

But in terms of like a cultural attraction, that people go to, I would have to imagine it's on the top of the list.

Why not?

Sir, I made the march from Bent's Fort to Santa Fe with Steve Carney, and I know an Apache arrow when I see one, sir.

Even a thousand miles from where they're made.

Yes, but that Sioux trail we crossed this morning, that war party could have brushed with an Apache war party and come by Apache arrows that way.

If you wish to have these soldier leaders as your friends, take the Cheyennes to the reservation at Bent's Fort and report the facts.
