Spoiler alert, all of my novel deep dive videos contain serious spoilers about the books being discussed.

So if you have not yet read Everyone in My Family Has Killed Someone by Benjamin Stevenson and want to read it without having it spoiled, pause this video right now, read the book, and then come back.

The specific writing craft technique is we're going to talk about is the very voicey first person narrator.

Ernst Cunningham, with a specific focus on his jumping into the future to comment on events that are to come and breaking the fourth wall with a sledgehammer.

all right okay so that's my uh so maybe you're right maybe this is he had self-published books on writing craft but he published this one as a memoir maybe in the in his fictional universe because this book itself is a novel a novel because it's fiction because the author is not actually ernst it's benjamin stevenson and so But that's all kind of fun, too.

He writes writing craft books, but this is a memoir.

It's very good.

Honey by Isabel Banter, that was fantastic.

I read the third Benjamin Stevenson book, Oh, rather, sorry, his third one in the Ernest Cunningham series, Everyone This Christmas Has a Secret.

Great little whodunit.

Really enjoyed that.

to read it or watch it.

Penn Badgley is set to star in the adaptation of Benjamin Stevenson's darkly comic murder mystery, Everyone in My Family Has Killed Someone, about a family with one very unusual thing in common.

Every member has killed someone.

I feel like there's like five or six books with all that.
