Charles HudsonHOST

And on the one hand you're like, wow, this business is highly dependent on a very small number of customers spending a whole lot of money.
Henry StoneleyGUEST

It didn't stick with me.
Lasse RindomHOST

But by the way, I think Benedict Evans, he's an analyst on LinkedIn and X as well, but he shared a couple of months back, I think that we need to realize that DramaWave is probably also going to be one of the big use cases for AI.
Lasse RindomHOST
14:38
Do you know DramaWave? I think it was in top 10 of downloaded AI apps in the US and I just found my phone here while we're talking because these are AI generated movies that series actually and people should check it out just to see how you know how much bad taste people have one of the titles are you know always slightly soft porny right like sister stole my guy I got the alpha king that's a title for sure And another title is The Wolf King's Late Confession.
Lasse RindomHOST
15:12
You also have something like The Warden from Avalon, right? If you want to do that.
Henry StoneleyGUEST

If you hear something that feels relevant too good to be true or too bad to be true go and try it out yourself but if i had to give one advice other than the academy newsletter which always like i build it so i'm pretty proud of it i love benedict evans he's a tech um analyst and i think he's one of the few voices who actually understands what's happening and when he does not understand what's happening he tells you, which is a big deal.
Gianluca MauroGUEST
48:54
It's amazing.
Kim KaupeHOST
48:59
I love that.
Nadia KoskiHOST
3:45
Now, what does that mean? Because I do agree with him.
Nadia KoskiHOST
3:48
You cannot govern what you refuse to count or what you can't see, right? Benedict Evans came at it from another side with a talk that was called AI Eats the World.
Nadia KoskiHOST
3:59
Compliments on the title.
Nadia KoskiHOST
4:02
And his honesty was also a very useful point here.
Alex BrownsellGUEST
23:27
We wanted to strip it back and really focus on visual storytelling and let the data and the graphics tell the narrative.
Alex BrownsellGUEST
23:37
And I'd be absolutely... lying if I didn't say we were a bit inspired by the kind of decks you see produced by people like Benedict Evans these are sort of these page turning kind of decks where you can really quickly absorb the narrative flicking through and if you want to stop and look at the data to kind of verify that claim then you can do and It was definitely a new experience.
Alex BrownsellGUEST
24:00
It was learning some new muscles that we didn't maybe have.
Alex BrownsellGUEST

And I want to give a shout out to our lead designer, Xiaochuan Zhu, who is, yeah, he was fabulous to work with on this project because he kind of took it in a whole new direction.
Jordan WilliamsGUEST

I would agree.
Jordan WilliamsGUEST

I think this is also where – There's a great analyst named Benedict Evans, used to work at a venture capital firm.
Jordan WilliamsGUEST

Benedict Evans comes at it from the other side, noting that AI commerce is already routing around paid search, and asking whether the value ends up with the model, the application, or the data.

Thompson offers a price mechanism, and Evans offers the open question, and they are describing the same break.
