Bendigo Football Netball League

I feel like people at Myrtleford would have put the heat on him with a couple of really important midfielders leaving over the offseason and for him to have a breakout year, and he did.

He was rewarded with an interleague game against the Bendigo League.

He averaged 22.5 touches, his best return.

He was the number six player for clearances in the competition.

Had an absolute ball and, yeah, I'll definitely miss being around the club, but the Yarrawonga job and opportunity in the standard of Ovens and Murray was something I just, yeah, couldn't put behind me.

Bryce, I did some reading that you were a part of the interleague coaching panel for the Bendigo League, which knocked off the O&M.

Did that interleague game spark your interest in the competition, or has it always been something in the back of your mind?

Yeah, 100%.

And you don't want to emulate another team because you want to try and get in front of them.

But that's probably a little bit about my signature, I guess, for how I've played through my Benny going crank times.

Bryce, anyone from the Bendigo League going to make the move with you? I'm sure that if you got on the phone to someone like a Fergus Green or the likes that you might have a bit of pull.

We know there's a lot of talent in the Bendigo League.

Not from the day they beat us, but we kind of felt that if we won that first final, we had a chance to go deep.

I'm not saying we deserved to win the flag and not Gizzy because they showed us how to play footy in that final, but we definitely thought the competition is that close in the Bendigo League at the moment that...

Yeah, anyone that made finals had the chance to win it.

Obviously it wasn't our time but yeah, Gizzy just showed everyone how to play footy during finals.

Um, yeah, he's probably the best I've played with and the best...

And I probably got him towards the end of his career, but as I said, I was lucky enough when we were in the Bendigo League to play with him, and he kicks 100 goals in the Bendigo League.
