And John DiMaggio plays a character that's very opposite of him.

He's not... you know it was funny like even like working out the voices with him and everything like finding that right that right character and so people that watch it like that doesn't sound like John DiMaggio I'm like well he's very talented

yeah he has a lot of range because it's like he plays Bender but then he also plays like Jake the dog yeah you know like completely two ends of like the spectrum of like voice acting

And so like DiMaggio is Bender in that.

And so I was just kind of like, I'm meeting Bender.

This is bananas.

So, you know, I got so many cool stories from that.

I'm not sure if Bender's really changed me or if I've changed Bender.

There's a whole funk to it.

There's swagger.

Bender's voice is like a mix of three things.

He was quite frankly the worst.

He was terrible, terrible.

John DiMaggio has voiced Bender on Futurama for the last 27 years, one of the most popular animated characters ever.

And I got to sit down with John himself to talk about how Bender has changed his life and how the worst performance he had ever seen became one of the most iconic sounds on television.

I've seen a lot of these Telstra booths with like random cartoon characters like Cleveland.

But in order to do that, they have to get financed.

Well, it just so happens Bender has recently started working as Calculon, the famous TV actor's hot water heater.

Yeah.

so he's like hey you'll win an oscar if you uh star in this thing and finance it and everything it's like all right but i better get that oscar the movie bombs so what are they to do well obviously you sneak into the oscars and rig it all like everyone else does
