KUT's engagement reporter Chelsea Zhu has been working with the newsroom to sort through the most common questions people are asking and trying to get them answered.

She spoke with Morning Edition host Ben Philpott.

So what are Austin

voters wondering about ahead of the election?

Yeah, we would love to get more questions.

The easiest way would be to email us at news at KUT.org. We'll be keeping an eye out for things that keep popping up all the way up to Election Day.

That is KUT's Chelsea Zhu speaking with Morning Edition host Ben Philpott.

We're going to have a link to her story in today's podcast show notes.

KUT's Mos Buchel has been covering this story and was in the courtroom that day.

He spoke with Morning Edition host Ben Philpott about the recording.

The general public does not usually get to hear what happens in a federal criminal courtroom.

That's because reporters are usually banned from taping.

One thing that happened after this hearing is that he was transferred out of DHS immigration custody and then transferred into federal custody on this criminal charge.

And it's worth noting that after he got out of DHS custody, he quickly underwent surgery and the bullet was removed.

That was KUT's Mose Buchel speaking with Morning Edition host Ben Philpott about exclusive KUT audio and coverage of the Wilbur Garcespedes case.

We have more of Mose's reporting at KUT.org and on the KUT app.

AKA Texas Ben.

[upbeat music] Texas Disposal Systems has been doing business in Austin since 1977 in a noticeably different, noticeably better way, providing recycling, solid waste, and compost services for the Central Texas area and beyond.

That's coming up on today's show.

The Austin Signal is a production of KUT News, hosted by Ben Philpott.

Austin and San Antonio are growing closer together every day.

We'll get an update on home sales and housing developments in those counties just south of Travis.

That and much more coming up on Austin Signal.

[upbeat music] Hello everyone, this is Austin Signal.

I'm your host, Ben Philpott.

It's Tuesday, October 13th.
