We get up in the morning and find an area that not everybody knows how to drag a shrimp net.

It's work, don't get me wrong, but a lot of times hard work pays off, as they say.

We'll get up and we'll go drag the net.

Anyway, I made all my singer-songwriter songs into like funny songs and I was staying in a hostel and there was a dude, his name was Tim, I'll never forget.

He still messaged me on Instagram.

Anyway, he goes, man, I'm so, as soon as I met him, he's like, man, I'm so nervous.

I slept with a girl last night, didn't use her condom and I'm freaking out.

My tests come back tonight.

Well, I'm very, very happy to have you on the show because you are a man who brings a, I don't wanna say a jaded eye to this, but you certainly know what it is to enter a room of, uh, 30 students or so who you've never met, and pretty soon I would've thought the wheat presents itself, but so does the chaff.

And now in hindsight, I can see why they dis- [laughs]

But we also, yeah, I mean, teaching kids emotional intelligence is out the window now.

I was just like freaking out, and she's like looking up at me.

I'm like, "Ah, dude." Yeah.

So I don't know exactly how long it was, but then, uh, she got st- she started breathing, and I was like, "She's all right.

Andy's bleeding out.

Is she all right?" I'm like, "Yeah, she's fine." I just wanted to put her on Andy, I remember, and then they said, "No, we've got to race her off." Operation, get the placenta out, and then I'm just holding Dulcie for like two, two hours, and I'm like, "Andy's all right, right?" 'Cause she was bleeding out.

But what you are actually doing is you're trying to live to the most extreme that you can without actually quite getting there.

Do you ever jolt yourself awake with shit like that? Like, oh, fuck, I almost died.

This almost happened.

I almost, like, I was this close to dying.

I've had so many in my life where I've, like, drunk at a, like, I remember a Kiwana pool party.

I don't know how they did this, but all these kids would get fucked up and were, like, 15 years old at Kiwana pool party.

And go off the three meter diving board just doing this massive Superman.

And it was great, dude.

Mm-hmm.

And, uh, we'll get up current of those and, uh, take a split shot-If we have to, especially if the current's falling and it's moving pretty good, then I'll take them and, uh, have my clients pitch their, their bait up, up current, and then let a little bit of line off of the spool before we close the bail over, and then let them drift that bait through the light.

Now, live shrimp has been very productive, uh, at nighttime.

In the summertime, they typically get eaten up by baitfish during the day, and they're not the absolute best bait to target redfish or trout in the summertime.

I'm not saying it can't be done, but you're gonna go through a lot of bait, and you're gonna deal with a lot of bycatch with those.

But at nighttime it seems to be a little bit different and, uh, we'll pitch those baits up in there, and I typically don't have my angler real tight to the, the slack in the line, especially since I use braid.

That braid floats on the surface.

Just describe the scene there, if you would.

It's thinned out.

It's, it's late in the evening here in Bondi, and there's a chill wind blowing off the ocean.

But there are still people here just standing and looking at what is a massive ring of flowers that has just grown from, uh, very, very small beginnings early this morning.

Uh, I don't know how it started, but clearly someone had the idea or the urge to, to bring a bunch of flowers and lay them in front of the, the famous Bondi Pavilion.

Uh, and then someone else did the same thing.

And in fact, uh, our Prime Minister, Anthony Albanese, turned up quite early this morning and added what must have been the fifth or sixth bunch, and it's just grown since then.

How are politicians responding to that?
