Ben Graham

We're going off, uh, to the news with Nathan Gardner.

Ben Graham on the other side.

Don't go anywhere.

[upbeat music] Adam White with you on this Thursday morning on SEN.

Also, uh, Tim Lamb from the Demons, uh, list manager there with all the news there.

Damien Oliver's joined us, so there's plenty there all on the podcast if you missed it earlier today.

Plenty more still to come, including Ben Graham.

Lots to chat to Ben about, including what has happened to the Rams.

He's my favorite ever.

One of the more interesting this year, Ben Graham was great, head of the NFL.

Tom Barrass talking about his father.

So his father was a journalist.

I mean, like, even if you're down to the Britton Strange, Juwan Johnson level.

Like, Ben Graham.

And that's one of the guys you're starting, it's like, that's not that bad.

Yeah.

In this conversation, Sav takes us inside what it felt like to earn credibility in the NFL, how David Akers helped him understand the specialist craft, what Brian Dawkins showed him about intensity, and what Andy Reid's pressure looked like on the practice field.

We also discuss the 2008 NFC Championship game against Arizona, where Sav and Ben Graham stood on opposite sidelines knowing one Australian would reach the Super Bowl.

At the heart of this episode is a simple question.

What does it take to get hit, be tested, and still do the job? This is Sav Rocca on Goal and Inches.

So before you joined the NFL, you'd already played 257 AFL games and kicked 748 goals.

What made you believe that this was a second serious career?

Well, I knew that, you know, from the likes of Darren Bennett going over, um, and Ben Graham, I, I knew that I could kick it, you know, pretty much similar to what those guys could.

And, you know, I just had the confidence in myself that once my AFL career, uh, was over, that I'd certainly wanted to give it a go.

But, yeah.

Well, well, one of, uh, Liam Pickering, uh, one of his former teammates, Ben Graham, played for both the Cardinals and the Detroit Lions, of course, and he played at Geelong here.

So, uh, we've got a little link to, to Phoenix.

Beautiful.

He's all over the coverage online and stand this weekend as the Wallabies go to Eden Park and try and break this 743-year hoodoo at Eden Park and the Bledisloe Cup.

And later on, as always on a Thursday, the great Ben Graham will be along to have a little look at everything NFL ahead of week five in the National Football League.

Random Thursday greatness.

We'll go down the path of a football owner.

I also think they cover the spread because Tampa Bay, 0-4 start of the season, not looking great.

No, not good.

There's a host of teams, and I think we've got Ben Graham a bit later on.

No, I don't think.
