Ben Davis High School

53-37, Warren wins that game.

Um, in other action, Westfield beat Avon 49 to 16, and Carmel with the big win over Ben Davis, 28 to 24 at the end of that ballgame.

Um, like I said last week, don't count Carmel out.

State tournament's coming up here.

She helps us.

She facilitates our groups for us at North Central and Wayne Township schools, like Ben Davis High School.

We've been going into Ben Davis for years.

We also have some groups, like, at apartment complexes, one on the north side, one on the west side.

I was part of the first students to get bused from, um, the IPS area to the Wayne Township in 1982, I believe.

So did you go to Ben Davis High School?

I did.

Uh, I went to South Wayne.

All my brothers and sisters went to Washington High School.

Mm.

And I wanted to be at Continental so bad, but I got bused, and so I ended up going to South Wayne, and then I went to Ben Davis High School.

Was being bused out to a township school traumatic for you? Was that a good or bad experience, being away from your friends and family?

... uh, on, on Sunday.

In between that, on Friday night, one of the oldest rivalries in Central Indiana, Ben Davis and Warren Central, they have played every year dating back to the late '30s.

Uh, and, and, and Ben Davis is, is, is good, not great this year.

Maybe better than they, than people gave them credit for going in.

They were up on Center Grove 10-nothing at halftime.

Um, LC is one and three.

They got a kid going to Texas A&M, okay? That's what high school football is like in the top level of 6A in, in Indianapolis and surrounding areas.

So there's, there's great talent every week, and I get Ben Davis and Warren Central coming up on Friday night.

You see them trying to, uh, rebrand Noble Romans craft beer and, and pizza.

And, uh, the Noble Romans on West 10th Street by Ben Davis High School, it's exactly like the old ones.

Really?

It's like walking into a 1979 time warp with the dark wood and the little s- place where you can watch them make the pizza, and the little salad bar, and the Galaga machine and everything.
