Belphegor

And I was like, uh i'll just what what's the harm and you know what i mean why throw them away like what you never know i guess and i i put them back you know on my drums or whatever and then i sent them the video and then uh i was actually playing uh a show in somewhere south of here we had a weekend run we were doing uh so i was out in like kalamazoo somewhere playing a show uh somewhere south of here and i got a text on my phone like hey this is dallas from narcotic wasteland like i really like your videos and because at that time i just been talking to kenji and i sent him the videos and he's like cool uh you know i'll send these to dallas and he'll let you know what's up and uh i was really you know so i was like oh shit like wow like this is really happening okay um and uh so you know i met with him or whatever at a show you know we talked and you know i ended up trying out and or like doing like in person because dallas and i actually only live an hour and a half away uh I really felt like when I first joined, like the material was like very much like, like if I'm this good, the material is like this hard to play, you know? And I'm like, shit, like I'm so close that it like hurts to not, you know, be able to just feel like confident in it.

And then, uh, i had a few months before uh the tour and all that so i practiced up of course and i always practice a lot that's the thing so that's like the good and the bad news of when i get in that situation i'm like well it's not like i can just start practicing and like just get drastically better like i'm already doing the stuff but i'm like all right i just got to keep doing what i'm doing and like slightly change how i'm practicing or whatever uh But I really, you know, was working my ass off to play good on that first tour I did, which was the Belphegor tour.

Yeah.

And I feel like doing that tour and then doing the summer tour we just did and just practicing with Dallas, like, we're still, you know, we jammed, like, last week or whatever.

Between the Buried in Me, The Silent Circus.

Belphegor for some Austrian blackened death metal.

Lucifer Incestus.

Biohazard from Brooklyn, New York.

but we wanted to make the record universal, and we also wanted to, in some way, make it slightly hopeful.

Because, like, while we do exist on the plane of extreme bands, having toured with everybody from Belphegor to Enslaved, you know what I mean, to Decapitated to fucking Six Feet, you know, just name them all.

You know what I mean?

Right.
