So our learning objectives for today's podcast, we're going to talk about the process of fertilization, implantation, and cell differentiation.

We're going to talk about the functions of the placenta, umbilical cord, and amniotic fluid.

And lastly, we're going to talk about fetal circulation.

So let's jump right in.

Those are two really important key components.

So the amniotic sac originates from the chorion and amnion, which we didn't get into this, but as the-- when the egg and sperm first meet and they produce that zygote and the, the cells are dividing, they form some outer layers, and then these outer layers contain chorion and amnion.

And that's what kind of then dir-- again, your amniotic fluid and the umbilical cord both get produced from these.

We don't need to go too deep into that for the purposes of this podcast.

It's, like, freeze-dried.

So I kept my placenta and had the placenta put into capsules with all three kids, but you did that as well-
