Belfast Harbour

I started off within public services before moving into the maritime end of things.

So I started off at Belfast Harbour Commissioners working, I'm going to say VTSO and we all like acronyms, but what that means simply is it's a bit like air traffic control, but of the sea.

So monitoring radar, VHF radio, etc, etc.

So I did that for a number of years before joining the RNLI as an operations manager covering within the UK and Ireland.

The mix of cargo, the mix of sites, there's about the fact that Stenner's kind of staggers two sites, doesn't it? There's a main kind of cargo site in the middle.

So our ability to provide a complete turnkey solution uh actually um allows the projects to collapse down the complexity of the number of partners that they need to work with and it puts us in a very very strong position and i think that's a unique um differentiator for us as much as we can build in-house we will and so so these types of projects do feed our engineering services and solutions and centers which is uh which is important and all of that helps with the operational gearing as we go forward that's important um for us And there was just a question about the Belfast Harbour project, which I guess would sit underneath an engineering project for sure.

And this was just linked to what's happening as it relates to the Netherlands.

Firefighters remain at the scene of a large fire involving 4,500 tonnes of scrap cars in Belfast.

Crews from nine fire stations are being helped by Belfast Harbour fireboats on Queen's Island.

The Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service says it received a call at 12.15 yesterday afternoon.

It has thanked the public for their patience as it deals with the incident.
