I mean, this was, I mean, wow.

And it was really, like, that was great.

And then I would say Behind the Candelabra is also a big moment for me-

Back then, casting directors only did film or TV.

They're two- they are still two very different languages.

But Behind the Candelabra introduced me to HBO, and we had such a good relationship that then when Andrew Haigh came over to do Looking, he had never done TV, they asked if I would be interested in it, and of course because I'm a lunatic, I said yes to that, too.

But they were very, it, you know, the producers on that knew that I didn't have any TV experience 'cause Margie didn't do TV.

I feel like that's enough.

I mean, Rupert Everett is one of those guys, and watching this movie, I mean, this movie ultimately, I imagine, basically was the end of his career for all intents and purposes, certainly as a leading man.

But I do think that coming off of My Best Friend's Wedding, if my best friend's wedding had come out 10, 15 years later, and he had that kind of a star-making performance, it would have launched him into a really interesting career.

Yeah.

Only this scene is not as fabulous as the movie.

I'm, I don't know if I'm pronouncing that right, but he's amazing.

He did, uh, Behind the Candelabra, if you remember that, with Michael Douglas and Matt Damon.

Uh, the Liberace story, which that was also so good.

So...

In 2013, Steven Soderbergh made Behind the Candelabra, which starred Michael Douglas as the legendary flamboyant pianist Liberace, and Matt Damon as his lover.

which is an interesting casting choice.

Anyways, I bring that up because in 2013, Soderbergh announced that he was retiring from directing after Behind the Candelabra.

That was his last movie.

He was not going to direct any more movies after that.

I always say, there's that, that great scene in that Michael Douglas, uh, Matt Damon Liberace movie- Yeah ... where Matt Damon's walking through the, uh, you know, the bedroom-

... and, and turns to his left and sees Liberace getting out of the shower.

And it's just this sloppy mess with the long comb over dangling down, and it's just a hideous image.

So yeah, it's awesome.

Uh, and then I got a clip on social medias of, uh, what's his name? Rob Lowe as this, uh, plastic surgeon in behind the candelabra.

And I was like, I've got to watch this movie.

I think I've watched this and I guess I didn't finish it.
