Male Onthophagus taurus can meet rivals inside narrow underground tunnels.

The larger males use their horns and their incredible strength to shove their opponent backward until one beetle is pushed out of the tunnel.

[dung crunches] "Get out of here, Mr. Beetle, this is my tunnel." So all of that strength comes in really handy when you spend your life digging underground, competing in spaces barely wider than your own body.
