Uh, in the mid-1980s, there was a great book written on this by, uh, Murray Sperber, who was a professor at the time at the University of Indiana, called Beer and Circus, saying it was easier to keep college students happy by giving them big-time sports to watch and beer to drink than to educate them.

Now, if you look at some of these programs right now, and let's just take Ohio State University college athletics for a moment.

At Ohio State University, their athletic department brings in over $250 million per year.
