Beech Mountain

You know, it's natural scenic beauty.

One of my favorite places you go up to the mountains is a place called Beach Mountain.

In fact, they do a thing called the Land of Oz, which was an old theme park from the 70s that's closed, but remnants of it are still there.

So it's like they have these Wizard of Oz weekends.

That's a pretty place.

The wild man of Beach County, North Carolina.

Throughout the 1980s, reports surfaced from Beach Mountain of a wild man seen scavenging in the woods.

Witnesses described him as tall and rugged with unkempt hair and animal skins for clothing.

Begging.

Have you seen it? There is a grown one on Beach Mountain this year.

There's always one.

I mean, he's 50s.

And I was in eighth grade.

We went to Boone, North Carolina, right over the mountain as a matter of fact, to go skiing at Sugar and Beech Mountains.

Okay.

And there was a little theater right off the campus of Appalachian State.

My ears got popped, yeah.

We went to Beech Mountain, where apparently is where Lance Armstrong did a lot of his training-

... back in his days.

Whirlwind, you say? Oh, it was quick.

Like, we were in an area called Beach Mountain, North Carolina.

How long were you gone? We didn't even know.

Our headquarters in North Carolina was a place called Beach Mountain that I've never heard of before.

It's like a ski resort area in the wintertime.
