5 MINS LATER

BobbyHOST
12:55
and atc was like okay great let me know if you need any further assistance you know sometimes they'll vector you headings or whatever but we leveled off at like 20 something thousand feet because you know when we pass through 18 and i'm going through the checklist we're doing 2 000 feet a minute straight up right so in a minute we're at 20 000 feet you know in two minutes later we're 24 22 000 feet so we leveled off at 23 or whatever thousand feet to investigate and um so there's nothing written in the qrh about it and and we don't have any real guidance on it so we just slowly very very very slowly because we don't want to alert the passengers in the back and you know because they would be able to hear the engine make a change right so the captain starts bringing the throttle back on the number two engine all the way to idle he does you know but it takes about 30 seconds to roll that engine back so then we're just watching the fuel temperature gauge and sure enough the fuel temperature gauge starts coming back down and it gets down into the you know after a few minutes it gets down into the upper area of green and so at this point we got a decision to make okay We've been pointed at our destination for 20 minutes while we're working on this.
BobbyHOST
14:05
We don't feel like there's a specific emergency, like we got to land right now or we're going to die or we're going to have a problem.
BobbyHOST
14:11
And we're like only 20 minutes left in the flight because it's only a 45 minute flight from, I think, Buffalo to Bedford.
BobbyHOST
14:16
And so we're like, why don't we just keep on going? So that's what we do.
