But we've got, you know, the man of the hour is Ned Lubarecki, banjoist for the Becky Buller Band, host of More Banjo Sunday on Sirius XM.

How big is the tribe of banjo players in town?

So this is a really fascinating thing.

Any one of those reasons.

Anybody that wants to just make a vanity record, I have no problem with that.

I mean, I... or or you use it to further your career you know you you put something out there so that people will hear you and and be like okay oh i heard this song on the radio that you know this person did and i liked it you know that might get you noticed um so there's you know there's there's all these reasons for for wanting to do it but a lot of times it's just you you have uh you have music in your head that you need to get out and so you'll you'll go and do it so i know the The big outlet for me, of course, I play with an artist named Becky Buller.

She's a songwriter.

And they took a chance with us, and we made another record, and kind of that was the, we dipped our toe into it.

And then in 2013, Becky Buller came to me and said, I'd like you to produce a record for me.

I like what you're doing, and I trust what, you know, your musicality and all that.

We've been pals for years.

Bound to Ride also features the First Ladies of Bluegrass, an all-female supergroup featuring elite musicians in the genre.

Banjo player Allison Brown, fiddle player Becky Buller, mandolin player Sierra Hull, bass player Missy Raines, and guitarist Mari Tuttle.

The First Ladies of Bluegrass were moved when Pardon named each of them in the song according to Rolling Stone.

Pardon, who died at the age of 80 on August 25th, recorded the traditional song in 2022 for the album's upcoming release.
