It's very, very poorly monitored, very little, um, uh, accountability.

A very common example, for instance, is a company wanting to continue to pollute, invest in, say, a eucalyptus forest in the Global South, where they raze the local forest or maybe kick the people off the, you know, the rural small farms and so on.

Um, so you can buy a l- a eucalyptus tree for two or three dollars, and then when you get enough, you get a credit that you, th- to allow you to continue to pollute, or you can trade.

Um, and then in s- uh, in seven or eight years, when the, when the eucalyptus has grown, 'cause it grows fast, you can cut it down and, and sell it and, and make a fortune.

The second is the good intention of investors.

Huge investments are being made by pension funds which hold a lot of money, university endowments, nonprofit organizations, wealthy people, and billions of well-meaning individuals investing in so-called sustainable stocks and bonds.

People think, "Well, I don't know what else to do, but I can do that." So it's worth it for a company to be registered, to be certified as green or blue or sustainable.

The third way they make money is biodiversity offsets, which works the same way as carbon offsets.

So follow the pipes from those holding tanks, and where do they go? They go down, down, down, down, down, down to Jeddah, to these desalination plants.

It has everything to do with America.

Well, it's interesting because, you know, the cyanide-free leaching technology was developed by Extract that have an exclusive license for this area of the world.

Obviously, Extract is partnered with Bechtel, which is one of the biggest engineering firms in the world.

And, you know, like E-Star, it took a while to re-rate for people to realize that actually, you know, they're partnered up with some of the biggest companies, you know, in the world to do this stuff, whether it's Shinhai or Endeavor or the local Kazakhstanis.

And Fulcrum will eventually do the same.

We can have Publix down here in Florida, the big shopping, the big supermarket.

We can have Bechtel's, so forth.

Totally understand.

But generally, public corporations are going to be the largest, most sophisticated, most innovative, in a lot of ways, most consequential firms, business firms that are out there.
